Callide Unit C3
Update as of 14 April 2025
Unit C3 at Callide Power Station is offline for an unplanned outage following a process safety incident that occurred on 4 April 2025.
Our investigations and inspections are ongoing to fully assess what occurred on Unit C3 and the repairs required to safely return the unit to service. Alongside our internal technical investigation, we have appointed independent an engineering consultant to lead an ICAM investigation (Incident, Cause, Analysis, Method).
The unit is currently forecast to return to service on 30 May 2025.
Notification was provided to the Australian Energy Market Operator on 4 April 2025.

As a registered participant in the National Electricity Market (NEM), CS Energy is obligated to keep the market informed of our best estimates and current intentions for the availability of our generating units, in accordance with the National Electricity Rules.
CS Energy owns and operates Callide B and Kogan Creek power stations and the Chinchilla Battery, and we trade their output in the NEM.
CS Energy (through our subsidiary Callide Energy Ltd) owns Callide C Power Station in a joint venture (JV) with IG Power (Callide) Ltd. CS Energy operates Callide C on behalf of the JV. Callide Power Trading Pty Ltd is the registered market participant for Callide C Power Station and trades the output of the power station in the NEM on the instruction of the owners.
