CS Energy is committed to operating with genuine care for the environment, actively engaging with our stakeholders and innovating as we transition to a cleaner energy future.
We use an environmental management system (EMS) that meets the international environmental standard ISO 14001:2015.
Our primary environment target is zero Significant Environmental Incidents, which are incidents that have a significant impact on the environment or result in enforcement action by a regulator. We achieved this target in FY2024.

Our obligations
Our coal-fired generation and mining sites operate under Environmental Authorities (EA) issued by the Department of Environment and Science (DES). This covers all aspects of our operations including water and air quality, dust, emissions, waste, and noise. We are also governed by Queensland’s Environmental Protection Act 1994.
We integrate our environmental responsibilities into everyday business activities. This means proactively monitoring emissions, responsibly managing resources, and working within approved plans and laws.
We meet these obligations using an independently certified management system.
