CS Energy has provided almost $90,000 to 17 community groups in the Banana Shire and Western Downs Regional Council areas in the latest round of its community sponsorship program.
CS Energy provides sponsorships in the communities that surround Kogan Creek Power Station in the Western Downs and Callide Power Station in Central Queensland.
Sponsorships typically range from $1,000 to $20,000 and are awarded to projects that will have a lasting, positive impact on the community.
Banana Shire recipients
- Rotary Club of Biloela for the Biloela Christmas Festival
- Taroom Show Society for an ambulance at the Taroom Show
- Banana Shire Council for the Brigalow Arts Festival (pictured above)
- St Joseph's Catholic Primary School Biloela to resurface the basketball/netball court
- Lutheran Services (Wahroonga) for Moving Moments - a program providing activities for Biloela's older population to tackle social isolation, loneliness, and its impacts
- CareFlight for a Trauma Care Workshop in Moura for first responders
Western Downs recipients
- Dalby Nursery & Preschool Association for an interactive touchscreen TV/board at Stuart Street Kindergarten C&K
- Brigalow Recreation Ground for the 2024 Brigalow Bush Carnival
- Western Downs Friends of the Library Association Inc for hygiene packs and educational resources, distributed through nine libraries in the Western Downs
- Dalby Men's Shed to purchase a drum sanding machine
- Lapunyah Art Gallery, Chinchilla to purchase storage shelves
- Chinchilla State School P&C to upgrade computers in the library
- TASC Legal and Social Justice Services for the Rural Motherhood Initiative - First Nations baby shower
- Wandoan Show Society for the Dinkum Dinosaurs Entertainment experience at the next show
- Chinchilla Show Society for the Chinchilla Show and Rodeo Horse Ring
- Chinchilla Community Commerce and Industry Inc - CCCI for the Chinchilla Community Christmas Celebration
- Dalby & District Pony & Hack Club for the Dalby Pony Club Camp.
