Industrial Engineer and Masters qualified, health and safety professional Marisol Quintero took a big leap in 2012, immigrating to Australia from Colombia in order to change her career path and pursue her passion for safety.
"In Colombia I worked as a Production Engineer for a car parts manufacturing company and it’s where I developed a passion for health and safety. I worked in the wheel hub production line in the implementation of standard work and standard training strategies, which was part of the Total Quality Management system of the organisation.
"I came to Australia in 2012 and fell in love with the culture and the weather.
"I was accepted into CS Energy's Graduate Program in 2017 after joining the company the year before, initially in an administration role and later working as a Health and Safety Reporting Analyst.

"The Graduate Program gives you the chance to work across the entire business and you have a mentor and a personalised Learning Plan. From my mentor I felt a high level of trust and empowered to make a difference.
"Since completing the Graduate Program, I have been working in CS Energy's Brisbane Office as a Health and Safety Specialist. An important part of this role is ensuring our processes, initiatives and safety strategy are delivered effectively and that our systems work as designed.
"Most recently I’ve been involved in CS Energy's response to COVID-19. I believe that CS Energy has managed our response to COVID-19 well and provided employees with the resources that they need if they are working from home.
"Moving to a new country is never easy, but Australia is a country full of opportunities that makes every single effort rewarding and I am so happy to call it home now."
